Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
UNESCO rainforest on the edge of the Albertine Rift. Four trekking sectors, most of Uganda’s gorilla permits, and the usual combination with Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Your permit is tied to a sector. You cannot trek Buhoma on a Rushaga permit. Choose the sector for logistics (road vs air, lodge belt) as much as for “easier trails” — gorillas move.

FAQ
Questions travellers ask first
How do I get to Bwindi?
Road from Kampala/Entebbe is a long day (often 8–10 hours depending on sector). Many travellers fly to a nearby airstrip or enter from Kigali (especially Rushaga/Nkuringo). Your operator should time the briefing; do not plan to trek the morning you land from Europe.
