3 days — gorilla focus
Day 1 transfer to Bwindi or Mgahinga. Day 2 trek. Day 3 return to Entebbe or Kigali. Tight. Only wise with a flight or a Kigali routing for southern sectors. No buffer for delayed permits or illness.
5 days — forest and savannah
Entebbe – Queen Elizabeth (Ishasha tree-climbing lions if routing north of Buhoma) – Buhoma trek – return. Or Kigali – Rushaga/Nkuringo – lake day – Kigali. Adds breathing room.
8 days — classic Uganda
Murchison or Kibale chimps + Queen Elizabeth + Bwindi. This is the trip most first-time visitors actually want. Permit date sits in the middle so you are not trekking jet-lagged.
